In Focus: The Fine Art of Seeing

I'm sitting at my kitchen table trying to finish some paperwork. I have gone all day with out my reading glasses and it has taken its toll on my eyes. I left a pair at a clients home, the other pair, hmm can't say I know where they are right now. My eyes are tired as I have felt the strain of their need to adjust and re-adjust to a variety of reading materials under various lighting conditions.
Today, I sat back and just let my eyes fall where they may, no adjusting them with a forward or backward motion of my head. I just took in of the reality that I can no longer get a clear view of whats in front of me from a distance less than 12" without the aid of crafted lenses. It has finally hit me folks, what I was dreading some umpteen years ago...that one day my vision, the part of me I rely on the most to communicate for me through photographs, would one day need help focusing.

This is no pity party, I assure you. It is just mere observation and a reflection of sorts. I will even go as far as to see it as a challenge. A challenge for me to keep riding and capturing the beams of light that bounce off of life's joys, sorrows, pleasures and pains.
